Christa Stallworth - Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor

Christa’s counseling style is grounded in person-centered theory and she also integrates some holistic aspects (body-mind-spirit) and a systemic perspective into her approach. Christa uses the same approach in addiction/substance use treatment, and provides psycho-education on addiction, recovery, and skills development to foster self-efficacy.

Christa is working towards becoming a Level 1 Certified Child-Centered Play Therapy Practitioner. In her free time, Christa enjoys travel, music, crafting and spending time with friends and family.​​

Christa earned her Master of Arts in Counseling degree with an emphasis in Addiction Studies at Boise State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree from Cameron University. ​

Christa has 18 years experience working in the helping field and has been counseling children, adolescents, and adults in outpatient mental health and substance use disorder agencies for the past 5 years.

​In addition to counseling, Christa’s been an adjunct faculty in the Department of Counselor Education at Boise State University since 2016. Christa has taught graduate coursework and currently provides practicum supervision for graduate students in the Master of Art in Counseling program. Christa appreciates the experience of working with students and alongside professors in developing future counselors for our community.

​Christa has a published article in the Journal of Addiction & Offenders Counseling supporting the effectiveness of parent-based intervention (the Parent Project) for parents of at-risk youth.
