Rhyan Garcia - Owner, Clinical Director, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Registered Counseling Supervisor

Rhyan’s passion for creativity within the therapy setting has prompted her to open The Center for Creativity & Healing. Having been mentored by some of the leading researchers in the field of creative therapies, Rhyan has co-published quantitative and qualitative articles on Child Centered Play Therapy within the International Journal of Play Therapy. Having witnessed the power of the creative process, Rhyan is dedicated to expanding community access to evidenced-based creative therapies and shares her knowledge through ongoing education and supervision of counselors within her group practice. Rhyan is continually seeking opportunities for enhancing her education and experience within the field. A love for learning, Rhyan has taught several courses at Boise State University on Child & Adolescent Counseling and presents at multiple counseling conferences. A former school counselor herself, Rhyan recognizes the integral role a positive school experience plays in the lives of children and works to consult and collaborate with educational staff. As a parent herself, Rhyan recognizes how difficult and rewarding parenting can be, and works alongside parents as they strengthen the parent-child relationship .

Rhyan earned a Master of Arts in Counseling degree from Boise State University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Development & Family Studies degree from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Previous experience includes: Hospital Child Life Specialist, Health & Welfare Caseworker, Domestic Violence Advocate, Sexual Assault Support Specialist, Crisis Interventionist, and Early Childhood Education Instructor.
